Consumer Protection

Dear Mr. President, I am not a wide eyed young person writing this letter. I am someone who has been preaching to people older than myself that social security will not be around, and medicare will not be around, when I need it. I was born in 1956, and have been paying in since I was 14 years old. I currently have a partner, a man, who is turning 72 in December. We have been together for 14 years. I expected that I will pay SS and medicare taxes until I stop working, maybe 5-10 years from now. Now my biggest fear us that the taxes keep going up, and my investments keep going down. Six years ago my net worth was $1.1 million. Now it is about 660,000. It is going to be hard to support myself, even if I work until age 70-75. Here are my questions: What is your and the government's relationship with the banks? Why isn't Elizabeth Warren in a role within your administration? I ask because I pay my credit card bills in full every month, but if the payment arrives 1-2 days late, they can raise my interest rate to 23-24%, and my credit score goes down. I would appreciate an answer to some or all of these issues: Social Security, bailing out banks, Elizabeth Warren, and consumer protection.
