Mr. President: You throw the entire democratic party under the bus, coward, huff puff and let your air out, so republicans get their way! Where is SML Reid in this? Dave

I still have faith. Don't let me down....

Mr. President, I realize your job is one of the most challenging there is. I voted for you and believed in you. I was a Firefighter/ Paramedic. Over the years I lost a lot of friends and family. I now have COPD, Debilitating pain from Degenerative Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. I have applied for disability 3 times and been denied. I am not asking for Medicaid. Just what I have paid in my whole life to be able to live with some form of dignity. My husband is also ill but still working. His company took away the insurance benefits two years ago. I have no insurance and have to go in front of a judge who will decide if my not being able to live a normal life or get and medical help to get any relief. Now I hear you are actually considering putting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid on the table to negotiate for the debt ceiling. There should be no negotiating to keep America the promise land. I am very discouraged. I will go to bed tonight and pray that you remember we the people voted you into office. My fear is you are going to make so many people angry with you for caving on your own values that you won't get voted in again. Then what are we left with. The GOP that want to turn this country into a policed state. Please do the right thing. I beg of you. I would write my Governor for a letter when I go to court for my disability, but considering I have Kasich there is no need to even try.. Just one more American that served to help as many as I could and now am nothing more than a burden on society...

My Note to President Obama

Jun
23
Dear American President Barack Obama, I was hopeful when you were elected, but now I see that you do not share the same vision for America as me or our founding fathers. You as president could solve all the world’s problems, but instead you have given into the corporate America and the industrial military vision of a controlled USA, Control of the people but not corporations. I am sure you think this is just a general rant and tirade, but it is not. You cave in on increasing corporate and individual taxes on the obscenely wealthy. Taxes in and of themselves is a redistribution of wealth, so why not redistribute the money to the less fortunate. Unearned income is not clean honest money; no work was done to create the profit. The wealthy cling to the belief they have a right to be GREEDY. We have created a legal financial gambling culture that speculates on the future. Now it is too big to fail, again. Try “trickle up” economics. If you give me, or the average person in America, a million dollars the government and business will have it all back within a year. Why? It is simple. I will pay off all my debts, my car, my home and I will invest in my future. This redistribution of wealth will assist everyone, not just the wealthy. Sine I have lost faith in YOU and all our leaders, I am now without hope that anything I can do in this world would have any meaning. Why volunteer to help the less fortunate when Big Businesses is founded on keeping people enslaved. When corporations build a consumable product, it is not meant to solve a problem, it is meant to be consumed and leave you wanting more. Just like a drug dealer. I have been addicted to Pepsi Cola for 60 years, and I have been told I really have a choice, but you and I both know there is no real choice. If there was a real choice then you would not raise the debt ceiling, you would let it come to a halt so we can get on track. Your administration has taken away most of our personal liberties, freedom from intrusion in the home by your government spying, and making it legal to spy. Everyday I see commercials for “Click it or Ticket” and our judicial resources used to oversee and punish the people for common sense infractions. How many lives are lost because car companies are allowed to introduce technology into vehicles that keep us distracted while we are driving? Versus stopping me in my car and giving me a ticket because I used my cell phone. The focus of law enforcement should be on the biggest crooks and criminals. Why not post a cop in every stock market trading firm in America to make sure the rules that are already in place are followed. The Supreme Court is solidly behind Big Business in defending their non- accountably as they rape and Pillage America. Freedom is not the same as Capitalism or Consumerism. Our founding fathers did not say go out and screw everyone you can to get ahead. To promote an educational system that keeps the people ignorant, because students are herded from one classroom to another so they can not focus and concentrate on learning, is just wrong. I left teaching 30 years ago because I could see what was happening and I refused to become a part of the problem. By keeping the people ignorant, it ensures, we get Supreme Court Justices that are completely out of touch with real life day to day living America. Corporations are not people. People are more important than bottom line profits. Our Big Corporations exploit everyone, isn’t your Chief of Staff from GE? Why and how would he look at life in America from the view point of the common man? Most of us keep our word and pay our bills and eat our losses. Big Corporations pass the buck and the bill to the American people; AND YOU, Mr. President, help them willingly. Why do people with more money than some third world countries get to keep their money, while I could go to jail? We now live in a society where personal freedom is non existent and corporate greed is at an all time high. Police wall street And main street will take care of itself. I have lost all hope that I can make a difference in this world. I can not see that anything I do today will make my life any better. To participate in a rigged game is insane. I may be crazy, but not insane and I am not stupid. So, with that, I hope you read my letter and find the guts to make a difference and change the path we are on. If not, then, … Sincerely, Klrnsmrk

Missing American Civility

Jan
12
Mr. President, It was just what I was  hoping to hear when you spoke of bringing civility back into American Politics when you spoke at the Tuscon Victims Memorial. The idea has been on my mind, and on the minds of many other Americans I think, for some time now. It has been on the minds of some politicians as well. When newly elected Governor of Rhode Island Lincoln Chafee was sworn in he too spoke of bringing civility back to politics.  But what I've noticed is the lack of civility in American society as a whole. It's evident in the foul language of our young people as they walk down the street and as they converse in public places. It's evident in the revealing dress of people of all ages. It's evident in t.v. reality shows like Jersey Shore and others like it. It's even in television shows that allow people to scream and yell at each other over perceived wrongs. It's evident in the epidemic of single parenthood or  grandparents caring for there grandchildren because both parents have walked away. It's evident in the college towns where residents are trying to craft ordinances to control the rowdy behavior of the students living in their midst. It's evident in the rage of people over the smallest things. It's evident in gravity, pants hanging down below the butt, tatoos, piercings, loud music coming out of cars, road rage ..............I think you see what I mean. I was thinking that it was time that a leader stepped up and started to address the issue. You are a Kennedy level of leader in my mind. The right speeches from you at the right times could start a wave  of change that could turn this country in the right direction. I think it could take the focus off the economy and eventually help turn the economy around. I know that weekly speeches about improving our civility would sound like preaching, but what if it worked? People have lost site of " what can you do for your country" and are too focused on "what can this country do for me".   There are enough people out there that want to make  this country the kind that the little girl from Tuscon would be proud of that you might just start something! I just think you're on the right track and hope you continue with itin a big way. Seize on this moment return us to civility.

Healthcare Struggle with Cancer

Aug
09

Dear Mr. President Obama

My name is Amanda Collins and I am disgusted with the healthcare situation, my brother Brett had stage 3 cancers and it’s not the fact he didn’t have coverage, but it was a limited policy covering only $3000.00. by Brett being 21, he didn’t know and thought if you have insurance you should be covered, Brett’s first visit to the emergency room exhausted his benefits, leaving him with no insurance, now his treatment has been basically been put on the back burner, he did receive chemo for 5 day a week for 2 months, had tumors removed, but now needs other treatment.  He is on oxygen and has had 4 blot clots in his lungs, he also needs another surgery.

My problem is why isn’t a person who is diagnosed with cancer given state funded insurance right away?? When we give children who are born in this country illegal insurance, we also give them food stamps?? I feel as though a person with this illness should be given attention as soon as the problem is diagnosed and not put on a waiting list. Some people might not have 90-120 days.

My mother has been his voice, but what about the people who have no one, no insurance, nothing, who is there voice, my brother is 21, has his whole life on hold, and living in the united states, it makes me sick that he has been a tax payer, working two jobs, and now he cant work, cant get benefits and now has disease that can destroy a persons being.   My brother is my hero, as he has remained in good spirits and takes everyday as another day to get better, hasn’t even said “why me”, he never feels sorry for himself. So you tell me why people who have cancer running through there body and may loose the fight shouldn’t be given state insurance right away, why make getting state insurance another thing to fight for??   My mother has made a box of all the bills that come in on a daily basic, the amount of money that he s owe’s is rediculis, why should he have to worry about this??? I don’t get it. Give me a reason.

This weekend he was in so much pain and didn’t want to tell anyone cause he knew it would be another visit to the er, which means another bill, my mother made him go, as she saw how much pain he was in, when he got to the er, he was given oxygen, and had ct scans done, which showed that his chest was filled with fluid, the doctors explained it as “he was drowning in his own body”. They had to cut him and drain all the fluid.   My mother sent me a picture of my brother thru the phone and he had a smile and his thumb up. How can anyone deny my brother?   In my eyes he is still a little boy, with his whole life in front of him, he was planning to go to college, now everything has been put on hold just like his medical care.   I wish I could do something instead of writing this letter, but I don’t know what to do, I also have worked my whole life two jobs, one being in the medical field, and I get so mad when I see illegal people who haven’t paid anything in to the system get the benefits that we have worked for what gives them the rights over my brother???   I hope this letter finds someone to help people who need help really get it. The cancer society can only do so much.  I thank the hospital and the doctors that have helped my brother I just wish it could be easier.   If some one could help me or guide me in the right direction to help my brother it would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely A sister fighting for her brother Amanda Collins

A Problem with kids today that i have noticed

May
11
Mr President I have noticed while playing many games online that kids these days can not stand losing a game at all. They believe it is all about winning and that if they lose it is the end of the world. Tonight while playing me and my friends tried to  let people understand that winning is not everything by  losing every match. I think if the american youth can understand that winning is not everything then maybe our future will be better. For if the youth of america just keep thinking they can not lose then when they lose they will fill bad and possible not want to keep pushing for the higher education or for that better job. If some how you  or anyone in this great country can come up with a way to teach the youth of this country that winning is not everything that will be wounderful for us now and for our future ahead. For if we do not find a way then our future can become really bad. For example here lets say a  kid named John goes to college and is thinking he can win everything like get all A's and B's  no matter what. Well when he gets lower than  that he may just give up on his education and go work somewhere else. If we do not come up with a way to teach our youth that winning is not everything then  we may not have enough doctors or lawers or high paying job people in the future. We might have more lower class people filling up the lower class.  Also if you think about it if the kids give up on education then the price for school will go up and that might shut down colleges which means that less schools means less people or youth getting a degree for a high paying job. If theyouth dont ty for thous degrees then hospitals may shut down and other big companies and other  big jobs that are needed for everyday life. So some how Mr. President can you come up with a idea to get the youth to stop believeing that they can just win everything and never lose. But to teach them that losing is ok every now and then and that even if you lose some you can win some in the end and that the lossing may help you out with learning lessons in life and it may help you get through some things in life that come later down the road.

Health Care

Apr
27
Needless to say, the issue of healthcare is a big issue, but I believe that the forgotten part about healthcare is that when you have parents and you can not cover then and they are not the age of 65 years old yet this is one of the most rediculous things that is occurring in today's society.  This is wrong to not have the parents that took care of their children and now suffers in society of not being covered with healthcare.  If you can cover a spouse that is married to (Man/Man) and a (Women/Women) as these two counterparts being the same sex can have this healthcare coverage, then remind me, what is wrong with this picture.  Also, we have so many mothers and babies being covered and mostly they are Spanish and Mexican's that came over here to this country.  They are sitting in the chairs of where jobs use to be for african americans and now has kicked out our population  in the job market.  I hope someone wakes up and their are so many issues to be tackled in today's society.  So many loose ends to be tied.  We have so many people in jobs that are not doing their jobs, but are really getting paid.  Seems today, everyone want to be paid but they want to do nothing.  Thank you in this regard.  Hopefully, someone will bring this to the attention of the person in charge and something will get done on these issues.

Thank you for protecting my american relatives!

Mar

Dear President Obama: I very much appreciate all the work you have gone to to get the health care reform through, despite much resistance by rigid, uninformed people.  As a Canadian, I cringe watching the propaganda being pushed by Republican blockheads in the US.  Most of my relatives who live in the US are Republicans (unfortunately) and are opposed to your reform.  I am trying to enlighten them (I hope they will consider that I am a nurse, and I do know what I am talking about)  It has been painful for me to watch my mother have to consider whether (or not!!) to get a recommended treatment for heart problems based on her reaching the maximum yearly amount she is allowed to spend on trying to stay alive.  Ridiculous system that allows people to die because they don't have enough money, and to let people go bankrupt through no fault of their own.  I appologize for the reactions of my relatives, and I thank you for "imposing" a reasonable health coverage on them.  The biggest irony is that many of them will likely benefit greatly from the changes, but they will not recognize it.  Funny how often the bitter pill is the one that cures you.   THANKS! Jill Nielsen Cambridge, Ontario.
