What now?

Dear President Obama, or whoever reads this

I have had problems with math since I was only ten years old, I have never been good at it and have failed it it since the fourth grade. Things really haven't improved and I am trying my hardest. Now I do perfectly fine in all my other classes and was hoping to go to College and have a good normal life, but because of math it seems I may not even get my highschool diploma. I really don't know what to do here, I just simply can't do math. I've tried tutors, summer school, after school study sessions and have even considered trying online school. Because of the system my life is most likely going to consist of being a minium wage employ living in a horrible apartment with no real life to speak of. I am a good kid and never really have gotten into much trouble before and I just don't see how this system is fair. I understand the system is designed to reward good students who try their best and not ones who don't try at all and see school as a waste. I just want a normal life, nothing glamerous or fancy.. no fame or fortune. I would be prefectly content with a small college degree working with computers in an office building the rest of my life having the normal American experience. But just because of math my life seems like it will go no where.. please don't shun this letter it's all completly true and I really do want help. Just tell me what I can do... Thanks.

Your average teenager whos life seems to be over before it really begun.

I think it is amazing to see a post liek the one you just left. I so deeply understand your dilemma because I had the same exact problem. I was diagnosed with dyscalcula which is similar to dyslexia but eith numbers, I dont know if you will read this letter but I am and have been in the same boat as you. I made it thru highschool and I believe you can do the same. I am enrolled in Colorado State University's online program. I dreaded taking a math class more than anything and I hated to the worked test and reading the book becuase I simply couldnt do it and it had effected my life considering some of the majors I wanted to go into. However I managed to pass the class with one point over what would be a D. I think you are so brave an want yo to know I understand more than you could know. I believe in you.
