Dear Mr. President,
With all of the negative things happening in our country, I wanted to tell you some a very positive experience.
In 2007 my husband was dianosed with Parkinson's Diease. He was 64 years old. We had just bought a small farm that was going to be our retirement home. I had my own business and was doing well. All was well with our lives. His condition became worse where he needed care so we took earley retlirement (ss) and I stayed home to care for him. It wasn't much but with our assets and holdings we were able to keep up with our expenses for the next 2 1/2 yrs. We were not able to complete the renovation of our small farm but it was livable. Our home of 31 years was lost in foreclosure. I struggled with the thought of filing bankrupcy, we always paid our bills, but our attorney said there was no other way. We lost everything we owned except our small farm. Our only income became our Social Security and then Medicare when we turned 65.
The United States government and the programs offered to people with low income is wonderful. Medicare pays for most of our medical expenses and recently we have been able to get food help. Never in our lives have we needed help, we worked for what we had. Now we accept your help with heart felt graditude. My husband has received a hospital bed and a wheelchair recently. We would not have been able to buy either of these needs. The food stamp voucher gets us food so we have a complete meals everyday. Our lives have changed and only God knows how much longer we will be on this earth but in the meantime we say:
THANK YOU MR. PRESIDENT FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP.
