Teachers financially penalized for teaching

Dear President Obama,

It is beyond all reason that teachers in our American schools are penalized at retirement for teaching our students. I have worked a full career in education, and a full career paying into my social security, as well as, my husband of 43 plus years paying maximum into social security.  Now at my retirement, I am denied not only my social security but also that of my husband. You are trying to gain the best young people to teach in science and math. Have you told them they will be penalized for doing so? If they go into the private sector, this would never happen. You can even marry multiple times and draw each husbands' social security.  It is so spiteful and cruel to dishonor one of our most respected professions-teaching the young people of America--then turn around and starve them out in their old age.
