Questions

Dear Mr. President,

First of all I want to say hello and this is the first time I have ever done this, so  hope I am not being too forward in writing.  If so, well then you are the person that should understand.

I am a small business owner and am fighting every day to make it work.  My wife and I live in Phoenix Arizona and work very hard 7 days a week.  We own a SMALL bar and my wife is a project manager for a company, and every day she worries about being let go and what we would do.  We have 6 children that range in age from 13 to 28.  (All boys)  1 of them just graduated and struggles to find work, 1 is on the Deans list as a top preformer, and wants to get his PHD in history and business.

We have spent everything we saved to make our small business work and yet the economy has taken a toll on us.  We have nothing left and work so hard to make it, and yet I see new business' around me.  I talk to the owners and they tell me the got assistance from the government and the SBA.  I talk to them and am told that my wife makes too much money and yet all the money made is used to cover our bills at home and the business.  I have tried to find a way to get a grant for a small business for the amount of 250,000 for 2 years to ease my wifes strain, and get nothing, and the SBA cannot help.

I am a disabled vet, and still love my country, but find it hard to trust my government when they are giving grants to people that speek so little english to help them get started.  I have been doing this business for 5 1/2 years, and tried almost everything.  Our house is on the line for the business.  Can you tell me or guide me or provide me with some insight about how I could get a grant for us?

We fight daily and pay our taxes and do everything we have to, but it seems that those that follow the rules fight harder for nothing and those that fight the system or play stupid (cannot speek english) seem to prosper.

I need your help sir and am not sure how much longer we will make it.  Businesses like ours are closing more and more, as well as other business.  Everything cost more and we make less.  We need help and this is the only way can help you to understan some of the small people.  All of the things that are out there cost hundreds of dollars and we cannot afford that either.  I write to you Mr. President for assistance.  You are the top figure head in the country and maybe world can you help us??
