Our Nation's Future

President Obama,

I hope all is well for you,your Family and Friends. I am writing this open Letter because I am concerned at the seemingly Dismal State of our Nation,not only on a State Level but as a whole as well. America was founded on Determination,Hard work and an unparelled Spirit to Achieve better things. I voted for you and will vote for you again because I believe in your message and I believe in you. If I may, I would like to take a moment to tell you some general information about myself. I am a 40 year old Veteran from Illinois who has served in our Nation's Army and Navy; I am also a Healthcare Professional who has cared for our Veteran's for many Years now. My Lovely Wife who is an RN/BSN has been one of your biggest Supporters throughout your Campaign and during your term as our Nation's Commander and Chief. Healthcare is of Paramount importance and in my Humble opinion She is the best at it. I have always told my Wife that you would need two terms to make a dent in the Mess that has been created by others and although this may seem harsh to say, America has never seemed more Dismal to me than it does now. I am hoping that after 30 years of service to the State of Illinois I will have a Pension to retire to and that I will be able to afford Insurance Deductibles and Co-Pays. As Illinios becomes deeper in debt the people that have spent there lives in service of it are facing serious penalties for their time and sacrifice. This includes Public servants such as Police Officers,Teachers,Nurses,Fire Fighters etc.

While Illinios has faced a Large Deficit for a long time it seems that these things have filterd through the cracks to affect our entire Country as well as our Communities. Mismanagement of Money has become comman Practice to all who can get away with it. Many of the Younger Generation seem to be self serving and lost without a plan at all and why should they? It is easier to live in the Moment to serve themselves and disregard any consequences that may occur. Many of them act as if The World owes them and that they can have the things that their Parents and Grand Parents have spent entire Lives building with little or no effort whatsoever. As a result they do not Respect Authority, hard work or the Value of setting an attainable Goal. Many of them resort to Crime because it is easier to do the wrong thing for the instant payoff. In my Humble opinion in the America's attempt to be more "Politicaly Correct" we have unknowingly Catered and developed this attitude. While costs go up for all things Wages and fair treatment for Employees seems to be going down so how can we blame this younger Generation for their "Who Cares?" attitude? Morality and Accountability seem to have fallen by the wayside. Gang Members have gone from our streets to our Military and in my Opinion this Dishonors all who have served and continue to serve Honorably!

Thugs and Criminals break Society's Rules everyday and some in extremley Vile ways. What is their Punishment? Confinement on The American Tax Payer's Money and the opportunity to do so again when they are released. What the answers are to these Dilemmas are I do not Know. Although I am an average Law abiding citzen and these answers are beyond the scope of my Comprehension my hope is that our Proud Nation does not become entangled in it's mistakes and retains the vision that many americans have worked and in some cases died for.
