No World Event problem, just wanted you to know

Mr. President,

It is with respect that I address this letter to you Sir.

Though you may encounter so many issues much more important than the issue I bring to you today, I nevetheless regard it as VERY important because it is dear to my heart.

February 21st I will turn 50 years old. After five years in Ft.Bliss Texas where I suffered physically and emotionally due to the extreme weather and isolation of this post, we were finally given orders out of El Paso. Happy to get out but a bittersweet exodus. My husband was given orders to Korea. Due to the trauma and my weak health condition, not wanting to take any chances, I came to Florida to be with my daughter.

We asked for a deferral to his order so that my husband could be with me on my birthday and, it was denied. As I look and observe the conditon of the nucleus of the military family it saddens me and, I wonder if any of these little details matter to anyone.

I know that I am jumping the chain of command way up... but if you look at our record, we tried compassionate re-assignment (three times), PCS request (they were granted within Ft.Bliss), writing to our representative in Congress.

All to no avail. Three times my husband requested this orders to be deferred, every time they were denied. I imagine that by the time you receive this e-mail, if you ever read it, nothing might happen but I figured, what do I have to loose? 

He leaves February 6th, this coming Monday, two weeks and maybe two days it's all that I asked for the people that make decisions for us little people and our little lives.

I am a proud Army wife Sir. My husband served our country in Iraq, Japan, Korea and every where else he has or will be sent. I will stand by him every step of the way as I have until now. I just wanted you to know, maybe it does matter?

If I don't  hear from you my heart will be content knowing that I tried and, you didn't answer.

If you do answer, HURRAY FOR YOU AND ME MR. PRESIDENT!!... you took the time for one of your soldier families...THANK YOU!
