My Unemployed Grandson

Dear Pres. Obama,

As I write this letter to you, I am listening to your speech at Annandale, Va.  What plans do you have for the students that have graduated within the past 2 years, as my grandson, and still can not find work in their field (journalism & communication).  He has worked as a waiter & has done jobs that a teenager would take - His parents & grandparents are supporting his expenses (student loan, car, etc...), which is getting harder to do.  How are you planning to help this people, they can not afford to go back to school for another vocation.

Colleges, private & community, should enforce learning in regard to the job market.  Students have goals set, but may not be realistic.   Highly paid professors/teachers & counselors should advise them of the changing world.  They do not - they take their pay, vacations, snow days, sick days & run.  Meanwhile the studetns are left holding the bag - no job - no unemeployment checks but oh yes, paying their student loans.

A very worried grandmaother!

Marie
