My Two Cents :)

Dear President Obama,

From what I hear in the media, most political analysts believe you will easily win this year.  I don't believe that to be true and I don't understand why people are saying that.  There is a strategy the Republicans are using that is special and unique - it is a strategy only they could use with such ease - it's all about lying and stretching the truth.  Bill Maher said the Republicans are up against a make believe President, and he couldn't be more right.  They are saying you destroyed the country, you are as close to a European Socialist (which by the way - is also a make believe character created by these people) as you can be, and that you want to hand over welfare to the "lazy do nothings".  Add to it the fact that some people are so ignorant and racist, which is the ONLY reason the Republican candidates keep trying to associate poverty with lazy and then try to attach that to African Americans...another huge disgusting lie..., it is an all out war against anyone who will ever try to do anything good for this country again.

This is why I am writing you.  I need you to understand that what you say, what you do, how you respond, and your win (God willing!) is not just for you - but a win for educating folks in understanding that the big bad world the Republicans are making up is just that - make believe.  How you will do it?  That is a big challenge except to say you need more every day people in your commercials attacking crazies who say insane shit - like Gov Brewer.  It is smart not to directly touch this issue with that nut job of a Gov., but isn't there anyone in the Arizona support base that could get some op-ed piece about how the crazy has to stop - and make it national?  We must find a way to counteract FOX news because  they are winning over real facts and education.  I used to canvass...I did it for several years including during your last campaign, and I can't tell you how misinformed the public is - at least in Michigan and Arizona.  In Michigan they get caught up in make believe conspiracy theories from FOX NEWS and they tell all their friends and family.  Meanwhile, the folks not watching FOX News, or at least having the sense enough to know it is lies from the FAR FAR right, really have no information that has been highlighted to share with their friends and family.  I mean sure - when my stepmother told me you, yes YOU, were planning to eliminate Medicare and that you were the reason Social Security was dying, I let her have it.  How could she believe such garbage.  But they do - everywhere these lies are spreading like wildfire.

Add the lies to the next problem - lack of voters this time around - and you have a loss, which means we have a loss.  Everyone loses if you do - including all the idiots who don't vote for you.  I know your teams will fund canvassers (lots and lots...good good!!), and work on a massive GOTV effort, on top of which you have mastered E-Organizing.  But you need more.

You need people like FOX news to be as bold and to get out there and get attention.  You need people to be obnoxiously on the far far left so that people can see a happy medium in you.  People need to start saying stuff that will make folks afraid of Republicans - because they really are scary!  They really do want all the money for themselves and the fear they have injected into the American psyche has frozen people because they are terrified to lose their jobs or be at war or not be #1 - whatever the hell that means.  But a government ruled by Republicans is worse than any make believe President Obama they can conjure.  Why isn't this being stressed?

If you can't find a way to stretch the left by miles more the way Rupert Murdoch has done so for the right then I think we will run into trouble.  So - where is your Ann Coulter or your tea party?  Michael Moore doesn't count because, as wonderful as he is, he isn't that radical...he actually makes sense.  We need FAR FAR left getting in the media...so people can see that Moore is the normal.  The far left looks something like this, I would imagine, "We all deserve Government paid health care coverage, and Obama is doing nothing about this.  We need every child in public school to have computer access, and books and libraries all paid for by the Government.  We need more funding to fight for women and we need funding to help women medically, including abortion - of course we would include it - if it were men that became pregnant that choice would have never been up for discussion.  The rich should pay half of their money to the Government - since we are the ones who pay their salaries.  Rich people may work hard, but we work even harder for them for pennies on their dollars and we buy their products so something is very wrong here.  In Canada where people live longer the rich people pay for everyone's health care... we should do that too.  No poor person should go without food, even if they are a drug addict - that addict could be our son or daughter.  Also, gas should be $8 to discourage waste - our climate is killing the polar bears and we should all be using public transportation!"  To be honest - I agree with all of that so perhaps there is even a further left than that, without bouncing back to the right all over again!

I don't know - just putting it out there.  I don't have the time to start a left tea party, but if it existed, I would do what I could to support them.  Let's face it - the 99% movement is great, but the guidance needed to gain true power like the tea party is not there.  No one wants to be a leader.  Ugh!

I don't even want to think about what the next four years would be without you, and with someone like Newt or Mitt.  Scary!  But the truth is, if Tim Walberg - who is an absolute idiot - can beat someone as awesome as Mark Schauer for Congress in an area full of despair (where more and more jobs were being created thanks to fmr Congressman Schauer) then it means anyone could lose.  *sigh*

Thank you for all you do, Mr. President.  You are the bomb...GOD SPEED TO YOU SIR! :)
