Welcome to LetterToBarackObama.com, your place to leave an open letter to the 44th President of the US. Letters are welcome from anyone.
Hello Mr. President Barack Obama.
My name is Kimberly from East Orange, NJ 07017
To take this opportunity to say you are working really hard and doing a great job keep up the good work. My concern is the job market not able to find work. I was laid off intially in 2008 my job moved overseas to Costa Rica America in which this was very upsetting to me loosing my job overseas. My field of work is within IT Technology Enviroment as a Computer Technical Support analyst. After being laid off i decided to upgrade my Technical Support skills to earn additional Certifications by going back to school, because in this field you have to keep your skills up as per what companies want in order to hire you for work, which is wrong if a person has experience and good skills for the job why take a person through so much extreme. You speak about lots of jobs out there but it's unfortunate that i do not hear about jobs offered within my field. I feel strong that these Companies/Managers/Agencies should be handled accordingly.
Example: i applied for a job online submitted my resume was told i have really excellent skills and good qualifications. Secondly i was told to complete information via online application, background information (did that). Thirdly i was told that i would have to take a 100 Technical Support questionaire test (did that) After all this was done i received an email from the Hiring Manager that i would be considered as a selective candidate and to submitt my references. After doing all the above it has now been over a year and have not heard anything from this Manager. I email him for an update (No response) Another incident I submitted my resume online recieved a call and was informed that my resume will be forwarded to the Manager to call me in which he did apparently doing the phone interview we got disconnected. Note: The manager never called me back to finish the interviewing process when calling back i was informed that if any other opportunity comes available we will call you. This is unprofessional and unexceptable.
This hiring managers are very unprofessional, picking and choosing who they want, and don't care about people who are in desperate need of work and or there livelyhood. For each time you are speaking on television and glued to the tv just to hear you speak, but at some point i feel left out when i see you visit other states and students/individuals who have the opportunity to share there situation with you live. I wish i can have the opportunity to share my experience and my resume to get your opinion. I am an IT Technical Support Professional , experienced, dedicated worker, fast learner and team player with a good resume background. Please Mr. President can you make it possible for these Companies to stop playing games and do there job of being fair when selecting candidates for a job. Thank you andn God Bless you and your Family.
