Hope

Dear Mr. President,

I am gravely concerned about my future and the future of America. I have experienced three downsizing events since 2005. I worked

for amazing companies and enjoyed a stable income with health benefits and a retirement plan. All of the downsizing events affected

our workforce NATIONWIDE. Our jobs were totally eliminated. The companies have cut expenses, salaries, benefits year after year

since 2005. They are now eliminating the products we sold, closing the plants, the warehouses.....everything. Who is cutting the

throat of one healthy business after another? How can we save the economy of America?  I have not been able to secure a

salaried job or return to my career of 27 years! I have tried everything imaginable to recover from my last downsizing event in

August of 2007. I sold my house, my rental properties and made "ZERO DOLLARS".  Well, there goes my retirement income.

I lost all my savings, annuities, health insurance, dental insurance and my home. Sadly, I have lost all hope of recovering in

my lifetime. I am 59 years old. The last company to consider hiring me, said they really wanted to hire someone under 40 years old.

Although, I have 27 years experience in the industry. Although, I am willing to work for 75% less than I earned before.  Please

tell me how to recover. Please give us some hope. We are all counting on you to change things.  I am not alone, my friends

are all in the same position. My husband has been downsized or eliminated twice since you became President. He has

no health insurance, no hope of employment. My private insurance is $1000.00 a month with a $5000.00 deductible, no

emergency room allowed or tests such as X-Rays, Cat Scans....anything that will diagnose a disease.....just not allowed.

I required surgery in November. The hospital called the day before surgery and made us prepay the surgery....upfront!

I enjoyed a steady income....now we cannot afford healthcare, food, clothing or a home. Income from our tax dollars

are going to dry up for the government. When the average American cannot get back to work how can we pay our taxes?

How can you run the country with more and more Americans out of work and paying no taxes? My husband and I

were making over $250,000 a year when we married four years ago. I just received my W-2 form for 2011. I made

$17,000 last year as a Realtor. I have to pay all my expenses out of the grand total. I may clear $5000.00 for

the year....if I am lucky. Can you feed your family, house your family and plan for the future on $5000.00 a year? I

worked seven days a week last year. I did not go to the beach, I did not play golf, I did not go to the movies, I did not

have "Date Night". 

We want hope for the future. We want jobs. We the people are angry! Is anyone in "The Oval Office" listening?

Does anyone read my resume? I apply for jobs EVERY day and work seven days a week!
