HARP Mortgage Program

President Obama,

Why am I being punished for being finanically responsible?  I bought a home in 2007 that I could easily afford and am now underwater at least 20%.  Although the HARP program does offer some help to people in my situtation it does not compare to the relief given to people who made poor financial decisions.  It does not seem fair that my co-worker who bought a house that he could not afford is now paying the same amount that I am, but lives in a much nicer house.  In this example, if my co-worker and I both live in our homes for 30 years he will have a house worth 20% more than mine, but yet he paid the same amount for the home.

 Does this make sense?
