Free Palestine

Dear President Obama, Im a big fan of yours and believe you to be a great president, even though im in Ireland, alot of people here love you. You are the most powerful man in the world, you have so much responsibility, you can change history, you have the power to make so many peoples lives better and to help the people that need it most, which is why i am writing this letter. As im sure you are well aware there will be a Palestinian bid for statehood in september at the UN. The Palestinians have been abused, oppressed, murdered etc for over 60 years and the world has just stood and watched it happen, and your own country has supported Israel and given it military and financial aid to do this, this has caused alot of resentment towards America throughout the world. How can you possibly claim to represent freedom and justice in the world when you support and supply the most oppressive state in the world, Israel has broken more UN security council resolutions than the rest of the world combined, and it gets away with it again and again because America refuses to let it be prosecuted, a few years ago when Israel destroyed Gaza and murdered hundreds of innocent children, children who will never get another chance at life again, America stood by and supported Israel,calling it self defence, ofcourse Hamas attacking civilians is wrong no matter what, but that does not excuse the behaviour of Israel and its murderous rampage in Gaza. You have the power to change this and help end the conflict, if America would allow this statehood bid to succeed it would help your reputation worldwide, Please President Obama, I beg you, please just allow the Palestinians to gain the recognition they deserve. You are the only real hope these people have of getting some sortof freedom from tyranny. Please dont let them down again, you can change these human beings lives for the better, and it is your responsibility to do so, please Mr. Obama, please give them some hope, they deserve it. But then again, you probably will never read this letter, but on the slim chance that you do, please think of all the suffering these people go through everyday, and think of how they are shot at with american weapons, and then think how much you could change that.
