Criminnal Justice System

Dear President Obama:

I am writing to ask you to support legislation to reinstate parole and increase the good time credit for first time non violent offenders in the federal prison system.  In 1987 when Congress voted to abolish parole for federal prisoners and called it "The War on Drugs"  President Reagan was forced to sign the  bill because there were important things that he wanted for the country that were attached.  The United States is in awful shape financially.  If parole were reinstated or the good time credit increased for first time non violent offenders, possibly 50% of the 517,000 people incarcerated could become contributing citizens to society not burdens on the taxpayers.   Please give your support.

Sincerely,
