THE COLLEGE NETWORK SCAM

MR. PRESIDENT,

I KNOW YOU ARE VERY SERIOUS ABOUT EDUCATION. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING TOWARD MY RN LISCENSE AND HAVE MADE THE MISTAKE OF TRUSTING THE COLLEGE NETWORK. I AM PAYING 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR ONE 1.5 INCH BINDER WITH ONE OF THERE SO CALLED "MODULES" IN IT. I SIGNED UP FOR THE COLLEGE NETWORK IN 2007 AND REALIZED SOON AFTER THAT IT WAS A SCAM. I AM NOW PAYING MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON CONTRACT I SIGNED. I WOULD NOT BE WRITING YOU BUT THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN MY SAME SITUATION...PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM DESTROYING PEOPLES CREDIT WITH THIS SCAM...SO MANY PEOPLE I KNOW ARE DISGUSTED AND DON'T EVEN WANT TO PURSUE THEIR EDUCATION NOW...I AM CONTINUING IN COLLEGE AT A LOCAL COLLEGE TO EARN MY RN DEGREE....I AM 42YEARS OLD AND I FEEL BAD FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN SUCKED INTO THIS SCAM...PLEASE HELP!!!!

SINCERLY,

INA

Dear Mr. President.
I too was mislead about this program and I am left paying for a loan that was misleading . I am 51 years old and 3 years ago I wad looking to further my education in nursing. Being that I was top in my LPN class and good at taking tests, I believed this was for me. I have now come to realize this is just a scam and really needs to be investigated. I know you are a very busy but strongly feel in my heart that this needs looking into. I am not the only person being taken advantage of.

I too am a victim of the College Network scam. I am an LPN, 51 years old, SINGLE WORKING MOTHER with a  Son in college. In 2007 I signed up with TCN. The fast talking sales Rep. told myself and another LPN that in appox. 18 months we would be able to sit for the RN boards using Excelsior college as TCN was affiliated with this college. 7 days later I RECEIVED  3 loose leaf binders with photo copied pages when I Called Excelsior college to find out when I COULD TEST OUT,I was informed that they WERE NOT, NEVER HAVE BEEN, NEVER WILL BE associated with Excelsior college. I called TCN to cancel and they said I only had 3 business days to cancel and that was done and over with, that they would indeed take the money out of my account and that they would ruin my credit if I did not pay in full. It is now 2012 and I HAVE PAID OVER 7,000 DOLLARS for nothing. NOT ONE PERSON I KNOW HAS COMPLETED THIS. NOT ONE THAT I HAVE EVER READ ABOUT ONLINE EVEN. IT IS A SCAM FROM THE GET GO. HERE ARE THE REASONS:

1. THEY GET YOU TO SIGN REAL FAST WITH OUT SHOWING YOU THE BOOKS THEY USE .

2. THEY SAY THEY ARE A COLLEGE AND AFFILIATED WITH A LOCAL COLLEGE. TCN IS A PUBLISHING COMPANY NOT A COLLEGE.

3. THEY TELL YOU HAVE 3 DAYS BUT THE BOOKS ARRIVE AFTER THE 3 DAY      RESCIND PERIOD.

4. THEY TAKE YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT INFO,. USING THE ACH PAYMENT YOU CAN NOT CANCEL IT WITH THE BANK. IF YOU DO IT FOLLOWS TO THE NEXT CHECKING ACCOUNT YOU OPEN.

5. THEY THREATEN TO RUIN YOUR CREDIT.

6. YOU THINK YOUR FINANCING THROUGH THEM WHEN INFACT IT SOME CREDIT UNION AT A HIGH INTEREST RATE MINE WAS 12 %

PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS 7,000 IS A LOT OF MONEY AND I AM ENROLLED IN A COMMUNITY COLLEGE PAYING YET AGAIN FOR MY RN THAT WILL TAKE ME ANOTHER 5 YEARS TO COMPLETE.
