Dear Mr. President-elect: Welcome to the job! You seem to like proving people wrong and working hard, so you are in the perfect position. I hope you are able to implement your programs and your vision for America because we are tired of being lied to. Our country doesn't need promise, it needs help. I see a beacon of hope in you Mr. Obama, something not to be taken lightly because frankly, hope is dying daily in America. You have been left with an oozing, ugly wound that has punctured our country’s spirit, causing pain in many corners of our nation and the world. In this case, a dab of antibiotic ointment won’t do it. The pressure you face is immense. One can only imagine what it must be like to wake up knowing you have to try to save the good name of the United States of America to the rest of the world, restore the country’s faith in its highest office and reverse the worst financial crisis since The Great Depression. Unlike a major-league hitter, one out of three is not a worthy average. Are you up for the challenge? Those who want to continue to harm and degrade our country and are jealous of our freedoms are watching to see if you are. The rest of the world is hoping you are. The nation is praying you are. The fact that you won your party’s nomination and the presidency against long odds give us hope that maybe, just maybe, you can succeed at your task. In the best of times, Americans want their president to be a sound leader, continue the good fortune and make the country a symbol for the rest of the world to follow. You don’t have to worry about those tasks, Mr. Obama; you only have to perform miracles. TLG 1238-011
