What about my dad?
So it is my understanding that with the health care reform, the elderly will be left "high and dry". My dad has lymphoma, non-hodgkins, and needs chemotherapy and consistent monitoring. These are treatable at this time. If he didn't have this condition, he is in otherwise good health. His form of lymphoma is slow growing, but persistent. He needs his maintenence chemotherapy to keep it under control. I am the youngest of four, and I would very much like for my father to someday meet his grandchildren. This cloud has been over my head since his diagnosis and now has darkened with the new information that my parents have learned from a doctor that if the reform goes through, my dad is, in simple words, "gonna be left without care, so that younger people will get the medical attention." If this is the case, I hope that someday this doesn't burn you and your daughters. I hope that they don't have to sit and wonder if their father will be able to get the appropriate health care needed to keep him alive to one day meet his grandchildren....I think with the state of the world today, this is the last thing people need in their day to day lives to worry about.
