Health Care Reform IS NEEDED!
Dear Mr. President,
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT give up your vision of health care that is available for every citizen in this country. Though the Republicans and many of their zany followers may yell and scream Socialism, you and I and MANY OTHER citizens are well aware this is nothing of the kind.
I have been fortunate over my career life to have excellent health insurance. But one of my sisters was widowed at a very young age and had NO health insurance for many, many years. She was working, but for a small business that provided nothing (waitress). During those nearly 30 years, she worried constantly about what would happen if she got sick. Being a single mom of three, she was the only breadwinner and support of her kids. The stress of that alone was intolerable, yet she tolerated it. Fortunately, she now has insurance, but many of her friends do not.
Even though I have excellent health care, I am often frustrated by the thinking of the HMOs we deal with. They are coming around (finally) to seeing the value of wellness over treatment, but it's still a battle in some areas. At any rate, I support you and I know many others who do.
I urge you to keep strong in your resolve and I will be writing to my Congress-folks to let them know my opinions.
Sincerely,
Linda Carey

Dear Mr. President Please Do Not Back Down On Your Health Care Stand. We Need Reform In This Country So That People Like Myself Wont Go Broke Paying For Health Insurance. Dear President Obama:
Here is a thought...I it wonderfult that the Fed has lowered interests rates, however this is not helping those of us that have existing mortgages that can not afford to refy. Why can't we pass a bill to lower interest rates to a flat 4% for those that have existing mortgages. That would give those that need it relief and those that do not necessarily need it extra spending monies to stimluate the economy. The bank won't be stuck with so many foreclosures and therefore stop the bleeding on the rapidly decreaing property values.

Mr. President, You campaigned for Health Care Reform and a 'Strong Public Option' as one of your main promises. Now, may of us who strongly supported you, and greatly funded your campaign are feeling abandoned, as you now profess that, a public option is not mandatory. You cannot take our support for granted. We signed on for CHANGE and for a public option at the very least. Forget trying to compromise with the Republicans. They have no interest in Health Care Reform. Over and over they have made it clear that their only interest is in having you fail. If you keep catering to them, you will fail. Push them aside, and put your efforts towards getting all the Democrats to support the reform. The best way to deal with the Republican party is to ignore them, trivialize them, get them out of the way, and get the job done that you promised us. When will you realize that you cannot negotiate with these people? We are better of with NO bill than a Co-op plan or anything less than a strong and robust public option. Anything less than a 'Strong Public Option' will be corrupted by the Health Care Industry. We know this, and you do too. Thank you for your service to our country.
