Here's to Change in Our Past, Present, and Future....

Dear Mr. President Elect Barack Obama, Congratulations on your win into the White House. I find you absolutely amazing with all the new North American states you've visited during your campaign. While in my home state we proudly acknowledged being your 57th state visited on your long list of 58 since you still had one more to go, by giving you our electoral votes. I guess Alaska and Hawaii account for the last of our proud 60 states. Speaking of Hawaii, I found it horrible that your staff just would not justify you making a stop there. That's your birthplace and you should have been able to at least swing by since every vote counts. I'm sure that there would have been many supporters for you in your native state on your campaign. Now that you are our soon-to-be president, I know that you will do this country well. Like you, in school we were taught history. We learn history to make us stronger and to take great lessons from colossal mistakes as to not repeat them. You being a well educated man and having far more academic credentials than me, you have cleared up some historical misunderstandings for me like Pearl Harbor. I never knew that it all went down with a single bomb and instead had the understanding that it was a full blown attack with many bombs. I was blown away at how wrong I was. This is just one of the numerous history lessons you have given me. The liberation of Auschwitz with your uncle, well I just have no words for that. I think I need to revisit my history lessons cause I am under the impression that I had a lot of misprints in my history books or something for all those years in school. At any rate, I just wanted to give you a pat on the back at the head start in action you've taken to live up to your campaign slogan. There have definitely been some changes going on, no doubt about it. We've added several states to our wonderful country and history is being rewritten as you speak. So now that you've won the race, why don't you get your campaign staff together (and hey, why not invite good old Chuck while your at it) and stand up to take a bow!
